ELIZABETH PHILLIPS

Voice Over Artist

Wick Welker

I've published several audiobooks before working with Liz and I must say I was really blown away by what she was able to do. She did the my 800 page (200k word) epic sci fi book, Dark Theory. Btw, I picked her among 70+ auditions because of her even tone without being over theatrical. Dark Theory is a sprawling traveling adventure with a significant cast of diverse and weird characters. Liz absolutely pulled of this challenging story. In fact, and I almost never say this, I think the audiobook is a better reader experience than actually reading the book because she made the characters really come alive. I was really impressed with Liz's breadth, depth and dialogue. She also very easily understood the tones and attitudes of my characters with almost no instruction from me. The result? Reader's across the board love her narration. I will 100% be hiring her for future projects. She was also very easy to work with and finished my large project in a timely manner.

Liz Phillips has real gifts. As an audiobook narrator, she ticks every box:

Yes, she’s punctual. Yes, she’s talented. Yes, she’s flexible and accommodating. Yes, she’s hard-working. Yes, she’s able to handle multiple voices and accents with unparalleled skill.

Her real gifts, however, are her passion and her professionalism. She is a true artist, dedicated to her craft and unwilling to settle for anything less than absolute perfection. She puts her client first, not because she has to but because she wants and needs to.

Her work on my Viral High YA-dystopian trilogy (Apocalypchix. Lockdown, and Final Exam) has been beyond excellent. She doesn’t just read or phone it in to get the job done. She cares about my characters. She knows them. She embodies and becomes them.

I auditioned nearly a hundred audiobook narrators for this project. There were some amazing applicants. Liz still stood out as an exceptional candidate among many talented prospects.

It is an honor to have her as an indispensable member of the K. A. Riley team!

Simply put, I couldn’t possibly be happier. No matter what else you do in your professional life, please do NOT let this supremely talented young woman slip through your fingers!

"Liz is a narrator of exceptional talent, professionalism, dedication, skill, and heart. I received hundreds of auditions for book 1 in my YA paranormal mystery series and as soon as I heard Liz’s audition, there was no question in my mind that I wanted to entrust this project to her. She has done an amazing job with every book. She took the time to get to know the characters and has given each of them a unique voice. She breathes life into every sentence she narrates and my readers have all loved my audiobooks because of that. I can’t express how many compliments I get for the audiobooks praising the narration. Liz is easy to work with, has great communication, and she records every book in a timely manner. She made the whole audiobook process so much fun. I can't recommend her highly enough!"

Elizabeth just finished the narration on the second book in my Vale trilogy. Have to say she is fantastic, both in quality and ease of working with her. She has handled my large cast of characters, keeping voices distinct and interesting. The characters are clear and unique, and she truly brought the story to life. And she was super easy to work with, with great communication on small changes or corrections as we went through the editing process. I can't wait to get started on book 3 with her. She made the daunting process of producing my books for audio both fun and easy. Thanks Liz!

Elizabeth Phillips is an exceptional narrator and was a pleasure to work on both of my novels she narrated (Still Falling and Flowers in Her Bones). She perfectly captured the tone, pacing and voice of the characters. She did such a fantastic job that I'm tempted to ask her to narrate all of my books despite them having different characters. ;) I highly recommend choosing Liz for your next project, and I look forward to working with her again on future novels.

I was relatively new to publishing audiobooks when Liz auditioned for one of my projects. After listening to dozens of auditions, it took only a second for me to realize that she fit the voice of my main character perfectly. As I discovered, not only was she was able to handle the nuances of multiple characters (sometimes with challenging accents) with ease, but the authenticity in her voice gave life to the words of the story. Ever the consummate professional, Liz gives each project the time and attention it deserves, thus creating a polished audiobook that delights readers. So, how pleased am I with Liz's work? Quite simply, she's my one and only choice for narration.

ABOUT

A Born Voice Over Artist

When I was a little girl I vividly remember reading books out loud to my stuffed animals hoping to bring the story to life.  Although my audience has changed a bit I still have the same love for storytelling and the same desire to capture the voice of every character.  Since 2013 I have had the joy of voicing such characters as a grumpy Scottish dwarf, a tiny cat frightened by his own shadow, a teenage girl confused by love, a surprisingly sassy 106 year old Grandma and countless others.  I bring characters to life because it's my passion to do so. If you have a story you need brought to life please get in touch with me - I'm always up for a new adventure.
